Two options available: Exploration (students play all the band instruments) and Position (students have designated instruments and take private lessons outside of class on their instrument)

Rock Write & Record I /GirlPop I (Exploration Bands) - AGES 9-11
Rock, Write and Record I (Exploration) is a class where students have the unique opportunity to learn how to write and play music with others in a band setting. Through drum circles, BLAM games, speed songwriting sessions, and bandstand work, this class is for students who still want to explore different instruments while learning the fundamentals of what it takes to create and play in a band. In addition, RWR students have the opportunity to record their original song.
➜ Explore all the instruments
Students explore all the band stand instruments, including piano, guitar, bass, drums, and voice. They will have the opportunity to explore which instruments speak to them as musicians. (Many students fall in love with an instrument after a year or two of an exploration band, and go on to join position bands!)
➜ Group Songwriting
Students will begin to learn healthy songwriting habits in addition to songwriting confidence. Kids in this class will create a recording of their original song. Plus - each semester culminates in a band gig where the band plays their original song for friends and family!
➜ Lean Essential Music Concepts
Students will learn the most essential concepts needed to make music with others, while building confidence & creative habits.
➜ Get Inspired
We provide families an alternative to the traditional music lesson with a proven game-based curriculum that inspires students to play often, and with others.

Rock Write & Record II /GirlPop II (Position Bands) - AGES 10+
Rock Write & Record II and GirlPop II are our most advanced band offerings. Bands write multiple songs each semester, diving deep into lyric writing, harmony and the finer points of performing and creating as an ensemble. Bands work towards greater and greater autonomy in their songwriting as they build the essential toolbox they need to confidently create on their own.
➜ Focus on One Instrument
This class is for kids ages 10+ with band/private lesson experience . Students are required to take private lessons on their chosen instrument, and they will represent that instrument in the band.
➜ Group Songwriting

GirlPop Bands (Exploration & Position Available)
GirlPop bands are all girls, led by a female teacher. GirlPop does all the same things that a Rock Write & Record band does, except it's all girls! This is an amazing supportive and fun environment for girls to shine creatively.

Rock Write & Record I /GirlPop I (Exploration Bands- 60 min. class) Tuition: $1,480, plus a one-time $40 membership fee (September-June). Tuition will be prorated to reflect your start date.
Choose from three billing options: 1) Monthly installments of $148 2) Two installments of total tuition, due on the first of the month, and February 1 (5% discount off full tuition, Tuition will be prorated to reflect your start date.) 3) One installment (5% discount off full tuition), Tuition will be prorated to reflect your start date.
* A 5% multi-class discount will be applied when a student or family is enrolled in more than one class or lesson.
BMF Connect Subscription: $4.95/month

Should my child do band or private lessons?
Some students do one or the other, some do both. Which one makes the most sense just depends on your child and his/her goals and interests. In private lessons, students focus on their instrument of choice, developing instrument-specific skills and techniques, while also learning non-instrument specific skills like rhythm, ear training and theory. In band, students learn how to make music as a band, writing songs, playing music games and building their music fluency. Choose private lessons to focus on a particular instrument, band to focus on broader music skills, or both for the complete package!
